Steaming Beefy Seitan

Hello, I was wondering, if I follow the recipe in Nonna's Kitchen for the Beefy Seitan, but wrapped it in foil and steamed it instead of simmering, would it work? Maybe if I divided the dough in half? I'm just looking to save a little time and some ingredients.

Unfortunately, no,because the broth that it's simmering in contributes greatly to the flavor of the seitan.
