I just made this great seaweed treat and thought I would share the recipe with you guys. I really don't like seaweed that much, but having it like this is addicting! I first tried something like this at my health food store and finally found a close recipe that I was able to edit until I found the perfect mix. It's so easy and I am sure most of you have these items around your home.
Crispy Sesame Seaweed
6 Nori sheets 1/4 cup brown rice syrup 1/4 cup oil (I use canola but am going to try sesame next time) dash cayenne pepper sesame seeds salt
Preheat oven to 325. Place parchment paper or non-stick aluminum foil on cookie sheets. Place Nori sheets on top. In a small bowl, combine the brown rice syrup, the oil and a dash or so of cayenne pepper. Mix and spread on nori sheets with a pastry brush. Make sure sheets are covered with the mixture but not thick. Lightly sprinkle with salt and load with sesame seeds (I like alot of seeds, but you can put however much you want). Bake in oven for about 10 minutes. Watch it to make sure the sesame seeds don't burn. I use raw sesame seeds because they cook in the oven. Take it out and let it cool. It will harden up and become very crispy. If you like, you can do the same thing on the other side if you want the coating on both sides of the Nori, but I just do one side (less calories!). It takes about 10 minutes to cool enough to eat, but should actually be cooled 20 minutes to get it very crispy. You just break it up in pieces or I guess you can cut it before it gets too crispy if you want it in neater pieces. ENJOY!

This sounds like something I would love, but I'm never going to get Brian to try it! ---------- "To look like a goddess, eat like a peasant." Karen Andres

Hi Silvia,
I would love this, thanks. I don't have brown rice syrup but I have agave nectar/syrup. I am going to try it with agave.
I also go to Korean market and buy roasted seaweed and sesame oil. It is very good. The nori is roasted with sesame oil and sprinkled with salt. I think the nori is thinner than the nori that we use for sushi.
