I am in the process of evaluating several recipe management softwares, namely Accuchef, Now Your Cooking, and Cookbook Wizard. I am interested in hearing about anybody's comments or observations on what they currently use. I am collecting tons of recipes and need someway to manage them. I am also interested in Big Oven and Living Cookbook software. Anyone out there have any ideas on what to get? Any help would be appreciated!

I am using Living Cookbook and I love it! Debbie has it,too. Good support, and a huge ingredient list-- and you can add your own ingredients. I have a vegan ingredient folder. but there are also lots of soyfoods listed. ---------- "To look like a goddess, eat like a peasant." Karen Andres

Thanks, for the input. The only thing that scares me about the Living Cookbook is that I heard they charge download fees for upgrades and install spyware on your computer. Have you had any problems with that?

The best way to check for spyware is to install the trial version and then run adaware. If adaware finds a bunch of stuff and/or the trial version stops working, you should uninstall the trial version and not buy the product.
Just my 2cents... The procedure above is how I decided Kazaa was not for me.

I have not had any problems and I don't think Smart Computing magazine would recommend this software if it had spyware in it. Sounds like the competition spreading rumors! Here are awards that this software has won: http://www.lose-weight-without-surgery.com/living-cookbook-software-awards.html
If you have an old version of Living Cookbook and download the upgrade, it costs only $2.50.
I think it's a great bargain, actually. But you may not need everything they offer. You need to gather all the information about all the available products and weigh what they offer withwhat you need. That's what I did.
Here's a review that addresses the spyware issue: http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/Living-Cookbook-2005/3000-2126_2-10332202.html

Here's a comparison chart with what a bunch of the different softwares offer; http://www.lose-weight-without-surgery.com/living-cookbook-software-comparison.html ---------- "To look like a goddess, eat like a peasant." Karen Andres

Thanks for your help! I'm going to check on all your ideas and web addresses. Actually, I am impressed with Living Cookbook and I have been checking on their forum. It seems whenever people have problems, the tech support responds rapidly. That in itself is great. It's so hard to get anyone to respond to problems these days. Either they don't respond at all or don't have any idea how to fix the problem.

I have that Living Cookbook software and love it. I like the 'Capture' feature where you copy and paste recipes from Internet or other document and capture it into the software. I thought it is pretty clever.
I just don't have time to convert all my recipe collections into it yet. I wish I have the time. I started collecting vegan recipes since 2003. But I loaded new recipes to this software whenever I found and tried a good recipe.
