Just out of curiousity, for those of you that have tried each of these, which one did you prefer? I'm thinking about making one or the other this weekend, and trying to decide which one to go with.

Thanks! :)

My family likes the soy and seitan texture better, Bryanna's new roast beef recipe is awesome! I'm the only one who will eat the plain gluten roasts.

Not sure which one is the "seitan beef"; I'm assuming it's the older version in the "Almost Fatfree" cookbook?

Anyway, my favorite of the beefy seitans is the new crockpot roast beef. Incredibly simple to make and it tastes fabulous -- the best, in my opinion.

Is that the one used for making the Wellington, Linda?

Bryanna, no, it's your "Crockpot Seitan Roast" from Vol. #2, Issue #3, Dec. 2004/ Jan. 2005 -- that's my favorite "beef" seitan.

I did use it for the Wellington, though! It was incredible with the duxelles and vegan foie gras.
