Here is the address and info:
Happy Family Restaurant in Rowland Heights 18425 East Colima Road Rowland Heights, California 91748 626 965-9923
Take Fwy 605 North and then 60 Fwy East, exit Fullerton rd, go south (turn right, I think). Left on Colima. About half a block you will see a small shopping mall on the left hand side with VEGETARIAN sign on the wall. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor closest to the street with VEGETARIAN sign on the wall.
You will love it. It is the best Chinese Vegetarian I ever visited. It is their 10th year anniversary this time. If you order over $30, you will get $5 off coupon for next time.
I like to order the Crispy Oyster Mushrooms. House Chicken (it is sweet and sour). The tofu dishes are good too. They are Chinese style and not Thai style so their dishes are not spicy.

BTW, if you go at lunch time it is cheap but crowded. You pay $5.95 for a dish, rice, and soup. Instead of rice you can also get the chinese flat bread that is yummy. They have big portions. We like to go to dinner to avoid the crowd. Sometimes we ordered 6 dishes for dinner for just the 2 of us and bring them home. We were able to take them for lunch, eat it for dinner and lunch again for both. :-) We selected dishes that are good to be reheated.
If John doesn't like imitiation meat, this restaurant has lots of items in the menu without the imitiation meat even though there are a few with. For example, their House Chicken is made of mushrooms and their Deep Fried Ribs with Sweet and Sour sauce is made of Taro.
My mom likes this restaurant too and agree to go with us if we go there.
The reason that this restaurant exists is because there is a HUGE Buddhist Temple in Rowland Height called Hsi Lai temple. If you are interested, you can visit this temple. A lot of times you'll see Buddhist monks dine in Happy Family. The restaurant can point you the direction to the temple. I think it is on Hacienda Blvd.
Here is a review:
Happy Family But the critics went to the one in Monterey Park, far a way from us. We went there and like the one in Rowland Heights better.
We also like the Chopped Mustard Green with Beancurd Sheets, the one they talked about in the review. We like it a lot even though it is not spicy but it is taste fresh and good. My mom doesn't like it because it is too bland for her.
