I just saw this gadget and would love it! Especially since I get those little moths in my kitchen. All the "environmentally" sound traps kill the insects; so this would be wonderful to have. I read a review that said very delicate creatures (like a daddy longlegs spider, for example) may be hurt by this; but, I think, maybe holding it farther from the creature may avoid injury: Don't know! But it sounds good. :)

BUG BUSTER!

That looked interesting, Linda, but I wonder if insects could get hurt by the "suction" ? Let me know how it works if you end up getting it, ok?

Well, it's not supposed to kill or injure them, but you never know! I would love to be able to catch those little moths and release them since I've found no other way to get rid of them. They've been with me for years :).
Hmmm...now that I think of it, maybe I'd miss them if they were gone, lol ;D.

Linda, do you find you lose a lot of food to moths? I've had a couple of infestations that I think originated in some bulk food I bought and it frustrates me no end to have to throw out food. I'm trying to keep everything in glass jars now which I'm hoping will prevent future infestations.

Yep! But I keep most things in my fridge now (which means it's always overstuffed! I keep flours in there, for example, or even the freezer. But sometimes, I don't have room and have to leave foods in cupboards; so, yes, this can be a problem :(.

The worst thing is that, even if you get rid of them at some point, they come in the items you purchase from the store! So it becomes a vicious cycle. So this is why I'd like to try the gadget. I've tried lots of oils and sachets of herbs, etc., which are supposed to keep them away; but I find they don't work. Actually, bay leaves IN the bag with your flour works well. I've just not done that for any length of time. I don't know if Bays will give off flavor to the flour over time...

I should buy some airtight glass containers as you suggested. You know, it amazes me how those moths get into double-bagged food items! I don't know how they get in there sometimes.

I never have any fridge space either due to my sauce addiction (hoisin, chile garlic, hot sauce, black bean sauce, etc. -- I can't seem to stop buying them) or I'd consider keeping more of my dry goods in the fridge. As to the glass jars, I haven't actually bought any -- I've just been saving them as I finish the food that came in them. If only I could find a jar big enough to hold a bag of white flour...
