Hi Bryanna,

I tried the Black Bean and Sweet Potato soup and the Blackeyed Pea and 'Sausage' soup. Both were gooood.

I remember someone likes black bean and sweet potato in this forum. Well, I recommend this soup! Be careful with the salt if you use already salted vegetarian broth.

Very nutritious and no fat!

I made the black eyed pea and sausage soup to take for myself to a potluck. I didn't really think others would be interested with the greens in there and also because there were three other soups (veg beef, turkey chili and beef chili). I labeled my crockpot with the words "VEGETARIAN OPTION (dairy and egg free) - -- My crock pot was emptied and the other soups were barely touched. Several teenagers at this function came up and said it was delicious.

We made the black-eyed pea & sausage soup tonight although due to being too lazy to go shopping, I used a can of kidney beans in chile sauce (instead of peas and some of the broth) and Hokkaido pumpkin instead of sweet potato. It was very yummy, and definitely one we'll be revisiting!

I think I'm the black bean and sweet potato fan ;) They are my two favorite foods. I'm on break now from school, but as soon as I get back home, I am trying this soup!

Bryanna, I am in the process of going through all your cookbooks to pick out the recipes for my "I can chew again party," which will take place in a week to three months, depending on what my doctor says on Monday! ;)
