I have tried that version of Soy and Seitan 'Beef'. Bryanna let me have a pre-released recipe. :-) It is delicious!

I made French Dip sandwiches with it. I sliced the 'Beef' thin and put it in a warm French Roll and use the leftover broth to dip it in.

I'm a complete seitan making novice. Would this recipe work for a slow cooker?

I have never tried it but it won't work according to Bryanna (all the soy and seitan recipe won't work in a slow cooker). If you don't have a clay pot you can still use the loaf pans and bake it in the oven per directions of the recipe.

I have made the soy and seitan ham in the slow cooker (on low overnight, when I tried it on high it got a little spongy). The flavor is outstanding in a clay cooker, but my electric crockpot works well when I need the simplicity. I would guess the crockpot would work for the beef also.

I think it was the heavy duty cast iron pan that didn't work so well.
