Bryanna, we tried your basmati and red rice recipe with the dried cranberries last night and thought it was delicious. I couldn't believe how much flavor the veggie broth, sauteed onions and cranberries added to the rice. It's amazing how long I've been cooking rice and have never thought to add anything to the cooking water!
I couldn't find any Thai red rice but did come up with something called himalayn red rice which was scrumptious. I used my homemade dehrydrated cranberries which were completely unsweetened so they made quite a tart counterpoint to the savory rice. Next time I think I'll either chop them up in little pieces or add a bit of sweetener! Catherine
