Debbie,
Your coffee agar dessert looks incredible! I'm honored to have inspired such a beautiful creation! I can't wait to get to the Asian grocer to pick up the ingredients so I can try it.
And, just so you know, your versions were far more artistic than the boring little rectangles I was served at the restaurant. They should hire you to improve their presentation! Catherine

Thanks Catherine!
It was ironic that this dessert is originated from Sumatra, the island where the earthquake and tsunami happened. The victims were in my mind when I made this dessert. I grew up in Jawa, the island below Sumatra and didn't have grow up with this dessert.
I asked around and was able to pull up resources to invent it. It turned out to be very easy. I had fun inventing it too. You can just use regular agar powder and not a certain brand that I was told.
I made it 2 times now and people love it. When I presented the Sunflower one at work, people were afraid to cut it. They said that it was too pretty to eat. I had to take the first cut so they will eat it. My artistic work was really not on purpose so I don't know if it will come out like that every time. :-)
You may want to use other pretty mold and see what happens.
