I got this at an Asian market. It looks similar to the picture of the one Bryanna has on this site and similar ingredients. It has a pretty good flavor...kinda hard to describe. If you add powdered kelp it really bumps up the fish taste. I marinated tofu in this with some kelp powder, wrapped it in nori sheets and fried for a vegan fish.
I figured since it's Lee Kum Kee, which is a brand widely available, it might be easier to find or order from a store carrying Lee Kum Kee products. It's not called "Fish Sauce" or "vegetarian"; but the ingredients appear to be. It's called "Seasoned Soy Sauce for Seafood."
BRYANNA, do you know if disodium 5 inosinate and guanylate vegan? I don't know what these are, but I would think a sodium product is vegan?? I hope :/...
Ingredients: Water, sugar, salt, soybean, wheat flour, yeast extract, disodium 5 inosinate, disodium guanylate.

I will have to look for that at the Asian store in Nanaimo! I'm sure those products are vegan, but I'll check. ---------- "To look like a goddess, eat like a peasant." Karen Andres
