Bryanna I have a question. I think it is called okara, the pulp left over when making soymilk, what do you do with it??
I used to freeze it and hope to use it sometime! But usually most of it was still there when I cleaned out the freezer. So then I would thaw it out and incorporate it in the soil when I planted my Tomatoes outside, as some one told me it was packed with minerals and is good for your garden.
What do you do with it and do you have good recipes to use it in??
I make a vegetarian patty with it but it makes a rather large recipe so lasts a while!! So you can only make that once in a while. Then I have added it to waffles, but that only uses about 1/2 cup.
So wondering what you all do with it. It is supposed to be very nutritious.
Thanks,
Lorna

Lorna, I don't use it much because it's just the two of us-- I usually compost it. But I'm emailing you my okara recipe file, with lots of input from Dori and others from tghis board!

Lorna,

I go thru ALOT of okara, since I'm always making soymilk. And unfortunately, I have yet to find a way to enjoy it. Its texture is so noticeable to me, where ever I've tried it, and I just do not like it. I've tried patties, in soups, stirring it into my oatmeal, all of it is icky to me.

Thankfully, my dogs think it is the greatest thing around, second only to the doggie treats I give them occasionally. They lap up every bite of every batch!
