Bryanna I just made some yogurt the other day using your recipe for using your own home made soy milk. I even added a bit of powdered soy milk to make it extra creamy. But this time it did not set up at all!! the flavor is really nice, but it is like kefir!! not yogurt. The last time I made it, it was a bit runny but it did set up better than this did. Can agar agar get old?? What I have has been in the freezer a few months. I have not found it in powder, just flakes. I used the conversion of one teaspoon of powder to equal one tablespoon of flaked agar. Thanks for any thoughts you may have. Lorna

I am not Bryanna. But I am just wondering if you soak your agar flakes first before you make it (soak them in the soy milk?). Agar flakes need to be soaked for 10 - 15 minutes otherwise they won't melt.

Yes I did soak them. I think I will have to try to cook up some more and add it to the yogurt, as it is way to runny to use as yogurt. Lorna

Actually LLHB, you need to use 6 times as much flakes than powder-- so 1 tsp. powder would translate to 2 T. flakes.

Thanks Bryanna, that is why it did not work!! I used only 1/2 enough! I did cook up some more in about 1/2 cup of water and now it is nice and thick!! Thanks Lorna
