Hi Bryanna,
I'm pretty new to veganism and new to your newsletter. I'm going to a BBQ on Memorial Day and will probably be the only non-meat eater there. I would really like to make one of your 'burger' recipes and grill it there, but am wondering which of your many delicious recipes would work the best on a grill?

Hi,

I am not Bryanna but I like the Ginger "Pork" Burger with Island BBQ sauce from past newsletter: Vol. #1, Issue #6 June/July 2004.

To get there, click on Vegan Feast Newsletter on the left, enter password, click on Archives, then click on Vol. #1, Issue #6 June/July 2004. Scroll down, to the recipe.

I put that on the grill after brush it with a little bit of oil to prevent sticking. I also made the sauce to eat it with. It's FABULOUS! You will have to chill the burger sfirst after making them, to firm them up first before grilling. It's great with that Island BBQ sauce, grilled onions, sliced tomatoes, and lettuce.

I also made the burger buns at that time. It is the best burger buns. But if you don't want the hassle, you can use store bought buns too.

Hopefully, this helps. Bryanna was in Portland, OR and may still be recovering from the trip. I saw her there and spent a lot of time with her and Julie. What a treat! VegFest Portland was fabulous too.

I think the Ginger "Pork" Burger is the BEST, my favorite. But you can have other options, too. It's a matter of taste and what you like.

Other burgers:

Click on Free Recipe Archives on the link on the left. Click on P 7. Archives of Past Bi-weekly recipes. Scroll down to June 27, 2004.

You have a few choices there. I haven't tried the Bourbon BBQ Sauce yet.

The recipe of Islan BBQ sauce makes a LOT of sauce but you can freeze it in small containers for future uses.

Thanks Debbie!!!

From having had 'burgers' crumble on me when grilling - I just wanted to know which would grill the best. But it sounds like that any of Bryanna's recipes would stand up to the abuse.

BTW the lemon grass seems to be doing fine so far (fingers crossed). I am sometimes more of a black thumb than green.

My favorite homemade veggie burger is Bryanna's recipe posted on bunnyfoot's blog. The burgers are firm and don't fall apart, so I think they would grill up nicely.
