Anyone have a good "swordfish" marinade for tofu? Being from the beaches of New England, with the good weather finally arriving,I am starting to really miss seafood on the grill.

Laureen, I've never had swordfish, so I can't relate to what you're missing, but I used to like eating seafood. I don't miss it anymore, thanks to all the meat substitutes available, and some even taste "fishy".
Here are a couple suggestions:
1. Debbie has an awesome vegan fish recipe. I think it was posted in either the last newsletter, or the previous one. I make several batches of it, and then season it in a couple different ways and freeze the extras.
2. I use lots of nori, wakame and other sea vegetables. Most sea vegetables have an amazing "fishy" taste. Use to season vegan "fish" dishes
3. I also got a great tip from "Simply Heavenly" by George Burke. Use Zatarain's Crab Boil. It's vegan, and has spices that make things taste fishy. Note: Most of his recipes contain MSG, but if you leave that out, all the other stuff in the recipes are great! I'm not suggesting you buy the book (it's out of print anyway), just wanted to give you the "crab boil" tip.
4. Adding dark sesame oil to some "seafood" dishes gives it a "fishy-like" taste. This is especially true if you also use sea vegetables in the same dish.
5. If you live near an Asian market, they may have "yuba fish" or other vegan fish products that look like sliced fish, and most are already seasoned. I'd still add the sea vegetables though.
I know you asked for a marinade recipe for tofu, but I hope I have given you some other ideas too!
Good luck! ---------- Val

Thanks for the info Val. I'm still new to this...lol. Sea vegetables are a whole new thing for me. So far, my experience has been some nori flakes...which to be honest...I'm kind of unsure about. I need to get brave and just try the stuff LOL.
I have lost my taste for meat and poultry but I love seafood...its hard for me when the weather gets nice and steamers and lobster are in season. I know...totally awful but I grew up on the stuff. My goal is to come up with something I can slap on the grill with my veggies that has some similiar flavors and textures.
I'm going to look for Debbie's recipes. Thanks again.
