Brown basmati rice

Hello! I got a bag of brown basmati rice recently and find that I'm still hungry after eating the brown basmati. I get that same hungry feeling when I eat regular white rice, but not when I eat brown rice. I was wondering if anyone knew if brown basmati is similar to white rice in any way, and if it's more "polished" or processed (like white rice). Is it considered a whole grain, like regular brown rice is?

Thanks!

Brown basmati IS a true whole grain rice (white basmati is actually less polished than regular white rice, though). I'm wondering if it doesn't satisfy you because it is not as "starchy" as other rices, which makes it lower on the glycemic index.

I guess that's possible, Bryanna. Maybe I just need to get used to it. Thanks!
