Has anyone used the Earth Balance sticks in baking? Where I used to live, EB sticks were hard to find so I used Willow Run and everything came out great. I didn't like the fact that Willow Run contains trans fat, so I really didn't use it that often. I was glad to find the EB sticks, but I made Toll House Cookies with them and they came out very greasy and flat. When I used the Willow Run, I thought they were the best choc. chip cookies ever, vegan or non-vegan. I have used the EB tub in some recipes and have never had a problem but they were recipes that did not require much EB (the Toll House recipe was 2 sticks). Has anyone else find that EB sticks are not as good replacement as Willow Run?
Peace~

Earth Balance stick is more like shortening, it's not like the tub variety-- it doesn't have a nice buttery flavor. When I want the buttery flavor, I use Earth Balance tub.

I did happen to see some shortening stick at WF to use in baking. Can't remember if it was EB or Spectrum. I use the EB sticks in my butter dish for the Hubby (he thinks its butter) but have naver baked with it. I have used the tubs for baking and havent had a problem.

I didn't realize the sticks were different from the tub. I only got the sticks because it's easier to measure (2 sticks = 1 cup). I guess I'll just stick with the tub from now on.

My apologies-- I was confusing the Earth Balance Buttery Sticks with the Earth Balance Shortening "sticks". I have not seen the EB Buttery Sticks here in BC for a long time, but do use the shortening, so I totally forgot that there was a difference. But I do recall using them once or twice, but we liked the tub version better.
