Hi Bryanna,
I made this from the new newsletter. It is definitely different than anything I have eaten before. Is it suppose to be hard and chewey. It is almost like biscotti but also chewey.
It is delicious though. I used sucanat instead of brown sugar (agava and sucanat).
BTW, a question, what's the purpose of peeling the hazelnuts? What happens if the hazelnuts were toasted whole and included in? Would it change the flavor? It was interesting to peel the nuts, I have never done it before with this method.

yes, it's chewy, all right, but biscotti didn't come to mind for me! I suppose you could leave the skins on the hazelnuts, if you like. They are just usually removed.
