hullo bryanna, my daughter asked me to write you. she will be 12 thanksgiving this year. anyway, she said to tell you how much she loved the kurdish bulghur wheat and lentil soup i made for dinner last night. i used from my garden, onions, cabbage and butternut squash. she does not like mushrooms, so i don't normally have them in the house. so i used a veggie boullion. anyway, the soup was wonderful. she does not like lots of garlic, so i used half of that, and it was perfect. she had thirds. just letting you know her favorite soup, lentil, now has a new variation. i have never used bulghur in soup before, and it was excellent. just had some for lunch. thanks, bryanna, for a great recipe. jacqueline

I am so glad your daughter liked it! I love making a delicious soup from healthful, unassuming, inexpensive 9or free!) ingredients! ---------- "To look like a goddess, eat like a peasant." Karen Andres

It's true. This soup is divine and healthy. I made it last night and we both loved it very much. The combination of lentils and bulghur was surprisingly good. I didn't have cabbage so I used broccoli. I don't know if kurdish eats broccoli or not ...he he... The broccoli turned out soft but we liked it. I use 8 cloves of garlic since I don't know how many clover per head. It was totally delicious. I recommend it to everyone.
I only simmered about 20 minutes and let the bulghur soaked in the soup for another 10 minutes. So, again, I was able to make dinner in less than 45 minutes after work. DH helped this time. :-)
