Hi folks,

I haven't been posting lately due to being so busy at work and home, but I'm not too busy to let folks know about this latest article that almost looks like it was written by the Dairy Council, and suggest that folks write a letter if so inclined.

In today's Wall Street Journal, writer Elena Cherney reports that the American Academy of Pediatrics now recommends that "Children who are lactose-intolerant should consume some dairy products to ensure that they get enough calcium and vitamin D"

The article continues "most lactose-intolerant people can consume some amount of dairy without suffering stomach upset and may be needlessly avoiding the whole food group, according to the new report, released this week. 'It's OK to take some dairy if you're intolerant,' says Melvin B. Heyman, a member of the AAP committee on nutrition. 'Most people do tolerate some degree of lactose-containing products.'"

(Sounds almost word for word what you found on the Dairy Council's web site, Dori, when doing that research project!)

Online access to the WSJ is by subscription, but articles can be emailed for free access by anyone via email from WSJ. Anyone that's interested in reading the entire article, email me and I'll have WSJ send you the link.
