Bryanna,

About the brown rice and quiona sushi salad from the past newsletter:

Do you think I can roll this mixture of brown rice and quiona into rolled sushi? Would it stick together or should I add more short grain brown rice?

I want to make rolled sushi with brown rice. I thought the addition of quinoa would be great.

I think you could roll this. Let me know how it comes out!

Bryanna,

It worked. This is what we had for lunch yesterday: quinoa and brown sushi with Cavi-Art vegan caviar that Julie introduced to me. I used the yellow caviar in the sushi and the black caviar for on top (only the yellow and black are vegan). The caviar was actually not as fishy as regular caviar but has the same saltiness and the texture is the same. The sushi were so delicious and a Core plan dish too. I like it better than just brown rice sushi. I just folded the vinegar and mirin to the quinoa and brown rice mixture and fanned it like making regular sushi rice. After it cooled down a bit, they sticked together like sushi rice.

I also made your restaurant-style Ginger Sesame salad dressing. Yum! It is exactly like what Japanese restaurants serve on their salad. I will use it tonight for our at-home Japanese dinner with friends. This recipe came just in time for our Japanese feast.

Thanks for such great recipes!

Debbie, you made a beautiful sushi platter! Glad it worked out for you. I want to make some of these sometime.

Thanks, Linda and Dori! Yes, Dori, it is also a CORE dish. I thought it is great! I am making them again at work today to show a co-worker in WW Core plan who likes sushi. I will let you know if she will like the quinoa and brown rice mixture.

I saw a recipe in a sushi cookbook that uses soba noodles (buckwheat noodles) in making sushi. The noodles are use as the outer part in replace of the brown rice and quinoa. Then, these are filled with vegetables in the middle as usual and the whole thing is wrapped in a nori. I thought it is interesting! Buckwheat noodles are part of core also. I will try this and see if I like the noodles in sushi.
