For those of you who goes to Trader Joe's, this article is interesting.

For those who doesn't know about it: Trader Joe's is a small grocery chain market that grows nationally but started in Pasadena, California. The store was owned by a private individual who changed the style of his business when 7-Eleven(a major convenient store corporation in US) came to town to take over in 1970s.

Trader Joe's has changed from a convenient store to become a gourmet and on the healthy side market. This article is very interesting. I hope you can view it:

I go to this small market all the time and find all kind of gourmet snacks and goodies that I can't find anywhere else. Some stuff they sell are vegan but most of them are not. In my area, they have 1 section of meat substitutes and sells Tofurky and LightLife brands.

It is easy to find vegan snacks like nuts, pretzels, and chips. When I find one kind of snack, it can become addicting. For example, I buy banana chips (Trader Joe's brand, of course) that are made of Thai banana that are lightly sweet. The whole bag is 6 WW pt. Customers are crazy about this snack that the guy who works there told me one lady bought 35 bags at a time. Then, these chips disappeared for a while waiting for distributor warehouse to make some more to catch up with customers' demands.

(Giggle) 7-Eleven also reached Denmark (or at least the capital), Debbie, we have one just one street corner away. It's not that I'm anti-American, but I just never go there ... if a Trader Joe opened, I definitely would from what you tell. Yet I'm happy to see that surprisingly many people put soy or rice milk in their shopping basket in my local supermarket, and the meat subs section is growing too although most of it is ovo-vegetarian. The Health Food Stores carry a Danish organic vegan brand of meat subs which is unfortunately (but predictively) quite expensive (like USD 6,50 for four tofu wieners).
