I finally got around to ordering these and all I can say is WOW! And YUM! MY boyfriend almost fell out of his chair he was so excited when I made him a quesadilla with them. :)
My only complaint is how much sodium the seasoning that they sell with the curls contains. I've made them using the Vogue faux-chicken low sodium base, but it's just not as yummy as the Butler version.

Hi Steph,
Aren't the Soy Curls the best? I know what you mean though about the saltiness of the seasoning, but a little goes a long way with the stuff. It really does give the Soy Curls a great taste. You can always eliminate any additional salt in the dishes you make.
Now this is coming from a salt addict, mind you. My husband has been commenting on how liberally I've been salting my food lately.

Hi Steph,
I haven't tried their seasonings yet. I usually use Bill's Best which is low in salt. I was also complaining to Julie that most broth powder put too much salt. I would rather buy low salt broth powder and add the salt myself. That way I can use a lot of the powder for flavors and adjust the salt myself. Especially, when making seitan, for me, it is important to use low-salt broth powder so the seitan will not be too salty but full of flavor.
Yes, soy curls are awesome. I have been using them a lot too.

Debbie- I will see if I can find some Bill's then. I don't use a lot of salt on my food, so when I find a seasoning that has a lot in it, it really makes me feel weird and oh so thirsty! I like the idea of being able to use more of the broth powder!! I've been using vogue at home, but I'm always up for something new!
My soy curls haven't even been making it into dishes. I eat them straight, right out of the fridge!!!! :)

Steph,
I use Bill's Best Chicknish and bought it on-line from Andy's Market in northwest (Washington, I think). Here is the site: http://www.andysmarket.com/ It is usually available in Seventh Day Adventist market.
I think that this is the best chickeny broth powder. I haven't tried Vogue's and haven't heard of it before. Interesting!

I love soy curls too, Steph. Debbie split an order with me, and I loved them. I also sent some to my sister who is a vegetarian, and she loves them too. I'm all out now, and have to order some pretty soon. ---------- Val
