I am planning to buy a new pressure cooker. Mine is an old Presto which is made of aluminum and the rubber gasket needs to be replaced.
Can anyone recommend a good one?
Thanks,

Hi Debbie!
Yes, I love my Kuhn Rikon! In fact, I have two (in different sizes). One of mine is about 11 years old and I've never had one problem with it. I haven't even had to replace the gasket. They're pricey, but you get what you pay for in this case.
I also had a Fagor pressure cooker, which I hated. It always gave me trouble and wouldn't pressurize half the time. I wound up giving it away. I wouldn't even bother with the Fagor.
I think I have the 7 quart and one that they call their restaurant size (or something like that). I used to use it for catering. But the one I use almost daily is the 7 quart. It's still big enough to feed 4 with leftovers.

I just have a Lagostina-- not expensive, but it works just fine. The top is kind of weird, but you get used to it. It's stainless steel and 6 qts. I've only replaced the gasket once in about 6 years. ---------- "To look like a goddess, eat like a peasant." Karen Andres

Thanks Julie and Bryanna! I was doing a research and considering between Kuhn Rikon and Fagor. Thanks for your input about Fagor, Julie. I will let you know when I get it.
