I made the ukranian beet soup which I really like, but this time tried it with the veggie lamb meat. The stuff I got was very spicy (hot with a burn). This surprised me. Is this common of lamb - I have never had the animal meat. The soup is still tastey, but with a sting!

Lamb is not spicy unless it has had seasonings added to it. Lamb was never something I liked. I remember cooking it once years and years ago and it smelled just horrendous. Didn't taste that good either. Blech.

The veggie lamb meat in my area is not spicy at all. I am sure it is the spices that added to it. What brand is it and what are the ingredients?
The main ingredient in my veggie lamb meat is mushrooms stem. ---------- Debbie

I can't read the ingredients on my package. They are not in English. The only english is a sticker telling of the nutritional info.
Also - - I actually make the iraqi sweet and sour soup, not the ukranian. It is still really very good. ---------- "To cook is to create. And to create well...is an act of integrity, and faith." - author unknown
