I made the Bryanna's Black-eye pea chili with smoked tofu from the new newsletter last night. It was spicy and delicious! The smoked tofu in the chili is perfect.
We ate the chili with Bryanna's Perfect Cornbread that I baked in corn shaped cast iron pan. I called them cornettes. :-) The cornettes were so yummy and cute. It looks like real tiny corns and when we 'butter' them seems that we were 'buttering' real corns. Here are the pictures:

BTW, I used the PAN GREASE on the cast iron pan and it worked perfectly. The cornettes came out perfectly and didn't stick to the pan. I love that pan grease.

Looks great Debbie! I think I'm going to try to find a "cornette" pan - so festive! ---------- "To cook is to create. And to create well...is an act of integrity, and faith." - author unknown

You can search for the pan in the flea market or garage sales. People don't use it and throw it away. I got the pan from my mother-in-law in Missouri. While we were flea marketing, we saw it. I wanted to buy it but my MIL said that she has one at home and would give it to me because she doesn't like it. She said that the cornbread stick to the pan when she used it. I tried it with the pan grease and works great! ---------- Debbie

Thanks for the tip - I will look for it second hand. I made the chili Friday - EXCELLENT! My husband said he doesn;t like black eyed peas but sure liked the chili. Cornettes would have been perfect, but I had leftover Bryanna Basmati Rice salad instead as a kind of dessert.
