Bryanna,and fellow Subscribers,
I have some acquaintance/friends that I'd like to give something for Christmas. They aren't intimate friends, just sort of friendly-work-type folks. I was wondering what you think of your homemade cereals (from the first Free archives), jarred with a nice ribbon around and instructions -- what do you, guys, think? Would that be a nice gift or kinda weird? lol. I'll probably do some Bryanna's hot cocoa mix in a jar too, but does the cereal seem weird?
And, Bryanna, can those cereals be left in the cupboard or should they be refrigerated?
Thanks!

Hi Linda,
I like to give biscotti as gifts, and Bryanna's are absolutely delish! Try her cranberry biscotti from one of the past newsletters (or make her almond biscotti from Nonna's and chocolate dip them). They look beautiful in a jar or tied up in cellophane bags with a pretty ribbon bow.
I sold gift baskets when I had my bakery, and the biscotti were always a huge hit!

Haha! Yep, I've tried those biscotti; actually, I've tried all of them! All the variations are so yummy.

Hi Linda,
I don't think it is a bad idea. But how big is the jar? You will need a big jar to give the cereal as a gift.
If it is the size of jelly jar, the person who receive the gift probably only eats the cereal twice or may be only once. My husband eats a big bowl of cereal at once. If we buy granola from the bulk bin we buy a huge bag (10 to 12 cups) of it and my husband can finish it in about a week.

Ack! Hmmm, you're right, Debbie; good thoughts, thanks! although many of those boxes of cereal really don't contain that much cereal! A large jar might even be more. I think I'll see how much boxed cereal can fit in a jar.
If it isn't enough, maybe I'll put the cereal in some sort of bag...or maybe that's too tacky?? I like the idea of the cereal because I can make it in bulk for very little money; plus, it's not a lot of work and different from giving the same old stuff!

Linda, do you ever get tofu in tubs? I give a lot of food away in tofu tubs. They're quite large, I'd say around 8 cups or so.
