We went to see this movie at Native Foods last Friday night. This documentary movie will be released on Sept. 14. A very eye opener documentary about GMO, Monsanto, government regulations and politics. There were cases of how Monsanto was suing a farmer in Saskatchewan, Canada about his canola field. Very informative! We enjoyed it and confirmed our beliefs in organic products and shopping at small farmer markets.

It should be released in theaters soon.

I actually met that farmer-- Fireweed had him come and talk at one of our vegan potlucks on Denman!

Really? I felt so sorry for this farmer and his wife. The seeds that were farmed for 50 years were destroyed, just like that. His wife was crying in this movie. So sad! It is a very touching movie. Do you know what happened to them now? Are they still farming? Is the law suit settled?

Monsanto also had a case with a US farmer in North Dakota that was also featured in this movie.

BTW, please let Fireweed know about the movie and send my best regards to her. :-)

The lawsuit was still pending as of last fall, when I saw him. I will ask Fireweed if she has any updates.
