Hi Bryanna!
I was thinking about you the other day and I remembered, maybe a year or two (or three?) ago, that you were going to publish another book but not a cookbook? I can't remember exactly, but I thought you were working on another book. What ever happened with that? Are you still working on it? Are you planning on publishing any other cookbooks (or any other books)?
Peace~

My publisher is now doing mostly health books, not straight cookbooks, so I am looking for another publisher. I think some of the recipes from the newsletter would make a good sesaonal cookbook, so I'm going to try that. I have lotsof ideas-- it's just getting another publlisher. I also have an idea for a mystery that I haven't had time to get to!

Okay, I think it's the mystery that I remember you talking about. A seasonal book would be so great! What I have been doing the past year, year and a half, is keeping track of what I make during each season because I really do want to eat more by the season, this way I don't get sick of having the same thing all the time - I will limit it to the season. Then I can also look forward to the coming new season for food I haven't had in a while! I am sure you won't have a problem finding a new publisher because your books are so great and are not like any other books on the market. Good luck with everything!
Peace~

Thanks, Silvia! And that's so true about seasonal things. We ONLY eat tomato sandwiches in the late summer when either we have our own ripe tomatoes or we can get them from locals. Ditto for pasta with raw tomato sauce and corn on the cob. It's always a sad day when we have our last tomato sandwich for the year!

Bryanna ... have you checked out Arsenal Pulp Press? They are based in Vancouver and they published the vegan cookbooks How It All Vegan, Garden Of Vegan, and the soon to be released La Dolce Vegan.

Yes, I did one book proposal with them and they weren't interested.

I can't believe someone wasn't interested in the best cookbook writer in the history of the world! I am glad you have your website and grateful for the work you do!!

Dori ... I can't believe it either. They must be seriously insane [or lacking good business sense] not to want an author of Bryanna's calibur. I know everyone raves about How It All Vegan and Garden Of Vegan, but I've never thought they were all that good compared to Bryanna's and Jo's books. I just don't get it. *shakes head*

Wow, I can't believe that either!! But you know what, whenever something incredible like that happens (i.e., Bryanna's example of being turned down by a vegan publisher, when she is so exceptional in her field), I believe that it is because God (or the Universe, etc.) has something WAY BETTER planned!!! So get ready for something wonderful Bryanna!!! :)

Just wanted to say that I really enjoy the "kitchy" look and attitude of the "How it All Vegan" duo, and also think they have a lot of recipes that are easy and appeal to beginners, BUT think Bryanna's recipes offer something totally different. I think maybe it has something to do with how the recipes are tested, though I couldn't say for certain. I find the balance of flavors and result of my efforts is just more what I was looking for, more what I think it "should" taste like when I use Bryanna's recipes. Maybe the publisher is really going for a certain "look" that they can sell but one vegan recipe looks a lot like the next to them. I mean, when they review something like this - do they even try the recipes out? Because if they did, I can't imagine that they would turn Bryanna down. I feel really confident using her recipes bccause I know she's tried and refined them in her own kitchen and is, strange as it sounds, critical of them - in the sense that she's always adjusting and refining to get the best result possible. A lot of other authors, I feel like they start out with a good idea, something that looks decent when you read the title, but I end up disappointed with the actual execution or results. Just my two cents.
